If you do any searching for how to format text or other editing stuff, please include it here! We're all learning as we go.
Check out [Help:Editing Toolbar] for the basic functions of the toolbar buttons at the top of the edit screen, and [Wikimedia:How To Edit a Page].
Links
Quick reference (hit "edit" at the top of this page to see described punctuation):
- Two brackets on either side of a word or phrase will link to the WinsomeWiki page with that title (it must be exact; "AP Lang" will not direct to AP English Language, but to a page that I have redirected to AP English Language.
- To redirect a page, include "#redirect [[pagename]]" at the top of the page you wish to redirect.
- To link/refer to a website, use single brackets, e.g., [http://google.com] becomes [1].
- To name the link, use the single brackets around the hyperlink and the words you want to link. [http://google.com Google] becomes Google.
- To show the link, just type the web address: http://google.com. This is considered bad form, though.
Page Layout
- To create a bulleted list, place an asterisk before each item in the list.
- To create a numbered list, place a pound sign before each item.
- To indent either list, use two (or three, or four) of the symbols before each item.
- To create a section header, place equal signs around the header. The more signs on either side, the smaller the header. Most section headers on this site use two.
