  1. Backup instance
    1. I do two: once through libstaff Tools -> Export Data for all records
    2. Then in terminal: [sudo] koha-dump [instancename]
      1. This yields: DB to /var/spool/koha/[instancename]/[instancename-date].sql.gz
      2. And: configs, logs to /var/spool/koha/[instancename]/[instancename-date].tar.gz
  2. Follow directions here[1]

wget -q -O- http://debian.koha-community.org/koha/gpg.asc | sudo apt-key add -

echo 'deb http://debian.koha-community.org/koha stable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/koha.list

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install koha-common

Keep .conf file. If comparing versions ("D"), use "q" to get out of menu

If W: Operation was interrupted before it could finish, apt-get -f install might[2] clear it up.

sudo apt-get clean

Ensure indexer is running: sudo koha-indexer --start [instancename]
