Why I teach Before teaching I worked as an HVAC journeyman, as part of the operations crew at the Tulsa Zoo, and then served as an Americorps volunteer for a year. I was blessed to learn from some really amazing educators during my (extensive) time as a student. I choose to teach with the hopes of helping my students discover what makes them valuable musicians as individuals, just as my teachers did for me!
About me I grew up in and around Tulsa, but moved to the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado in 2015. I am grateful for the opportunity to come back to teach at TSAS! Besides creating music I spend my time mountain biking, trail running, hiking with my dogs, skiing and gardening, and there is generally loud music playing in the background of whatever I am doing. I own a farm that I have been fixing up on an old property that used to be a dairy farm and a sawmill in a small town called Del Norte, CO. I have two dogs Schroeder and Ralphy, and my seven chickens, Rosie, Hennyetta, Betty, Small Betty, Karen, Foghorn, and Leghorn. I live in Tulsa now, and could not be more thrilled!
